This is the 'hole in the wall classic burrito place' that real burrito lovers understand and cherish. Tyler the owner is a gem. Devin was great and very friendly when we asked a bunch of questions about the hot sauces. The chips are v salty which is . Sweet potato burrito with spinach wrap was excellent. From a hardened NYC burrito connoisseur - nice work!
Terrific little hole-in-the-wall eatery in downtown Bath. Just off the main drag, two guys making great burritos! They say they have been open 11 years. I never stop in Bath, just pass through on Route 1. We we're delighted to have found this place. Super fast, really nice guys to chat with, great tasting food. It's tiny. You've got about enough room to order and turn around to wait outside. 80% of the space is taken up by the long, narrow kitchen. The place is about 8' wide and 40'' long. However, you only get to stand/order/sit in an 8X8 area. Three tiny tables jammed in front of the street-side window and a bottled-drink cooler take up most of the remaining space. This is delicious, no frills dining.
Went here for the first time on Saturday after hearing ppl rave about it! Was looking for something delicious and quick that i could grab and go sit down by the water for a late lunch. Made fresh to order, waited maybe 10-12 minutes for 4 burritos. 10 bucks a burrito but hot damn worth it and SO much food. Any of the other reviews that say its not worth it for the cost are very wrong in my opinion. The burritos were huge! Tequila lime chicken was amazing. Cant wait to go back! Wish i worked closer so I could go get it on my lunch breaks :)
I love their burritos. Super tasty, lots of options. Leaves you full for sure. Plus the specials can be unique and tasty. If you compare pricing to other food vendors that serve the same food in the area, it's not far off. Mateo's is not too expensive. I go here throughout the year. Probably at least once a month.
Best burrito in the area! All fresh ingredients prepared right there in the restaurant for your eating pleasure. I could and have eaten there multiple times a week and every time it's great, even if I get the same burrito it's always full of flavor and leaving me wanting more. And don't forget the corn chips also made in house! Love love love Mateo's
Alas! After a long and great run, Mateo's has closed. I will miss those tasty and satisfying burritos.
I absolutely love their food!!! They have specials that are always delicious and different. A couple days ago I got a hard cider pulled pork burrito that perfectly married bbq with Mexican flavors. Their menu is easy to order off of and they have gluten free wraps for their burritos! 3 3 3 (p.s. they are WAY nicer than the pizza place next door!!!!!)
Delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine! Friendly folks create sensational burritos and tacos in a flash, making for a very satisfying dining experience. A small place, but near the waterfront park to dine at.
